Yesterday was another dull, but dry day. There was some some sunny spells forecast for just 3pm, but I can't say I remember seeing any sunshine. Like recent days, the afternoon temperature was just 10° C.

Another mostly dull day, but this afternoon looks like it will be wet. The afternoon may see 11° C for a couple of hours, but it will soon fall to 9° C by 5pm. Despite the weather symbols for midday, 2 and 3pm, it seems unlikely we will see any sunshine today. It is possible that a few hours tomorrow may feature some sunshine, but dull and dry is a fair description of most of the day. Tomorrow afternoon may rise to 10° C, but most of the morning will be just 8° C, and most of teh afternoon and evening will be 9° C (pretty much the same as today)

Yesterday was yet another day when I didn't feel like going shopping in Tesco....and it was more the case that I couldn't be bothered to try rather than any great conviction that I couldn't actually do it (although I will admit I had my doubts). It was still a semi productive day. I finished doing the laundry I had started the previous day, and got it all hanging up to dry.

The other thing I did was to do the usual washing up backlog prior to a beer testing session with just Jodie. A lot of that washing up was my favourite bowls for making up my instant noodles for breakfast. I also washed up a few glasses that once held scented candles. I have that down to a fine art these days, although it still involves a lot of scrubbing, and either Petrol (cigarette lighter fuel) or alcohol - sometime both. I tend to only do the more interest glasses now because I have more little glasses than I know what to do with. It still irks me to throw away what could become a small drinking glass.

There was one thing I didn't do yesterday, and it was to have a single snooze longer than 10 minutes. I did have one short one. This began to show on me during the afternoon beer tastings session with Jodie. I began to feel really tired towards the end, and was happy when Jodie left - not that I could have a snooze then, but it seemed bedtime was closer (it almost wasn't).

During the course of the beer drinking I ran up and down the stairs a few times. The reason was that Jodie's mobile phone allowance is never enough for her to watch all her videos, and other stuff on Instagram, and she relies on a WiFi connection for extra data. My WiFi access point (an ancient, repurposed, Orange ADSL modem, seems to have died while I was in hospital (and possibly before). I have a replacement, and proper WiFi access point, but it causes problems.

One day I will look into the settings I have used because one of my mobile phones, and Jodie;s mobile phone can't connect to it. I think I have a clue as to what the problem is (probably the inbuilt dynamic name server), but I could not be bothered to check that yesterday. Instead I tried to get the old WiFi access point working. I suspected it was an external power supply problem. The bigger problem is that it is upstairs, and I rushed upstairs with what I hoped were suitable power supplies twice.

It transpired that the power supply was not the problem, but going up and down stairs took it's toll on my heart, and it's faulty heart valve. I had an ache develop in my chest. It was initially just annoying, and I expected it to fade away after a while. It didn't. It put me off my beer, and so was pretty serious. I actually felt a bit queasy, and wondered if I might throw up. I slowed my drinking down - a bit !

Once Jodie had left I served up my dinner. It was an Aldi (I think) "Slimwell" Chinese style chicken chow mein. To be honest it was not all that good, but it was edible, and I sort of enjoyed it. I ate it while watching TV, and continued watching TV once I had finished it - my standard method of passing most evenings. I did feel very tired because the lack of snoozes during the day, and gave up on TV at 10pm (I could have watched an old repeat of Have I Got News For You that finished at 11pm, but opted for bed at 10pm.

I would have liked to have fallen into a deep sleep soon after 10pm, but my chest still hurt. It was extremely annoying, and also a bit worrying too. It made me wonder if I had done some sort of damage to my already faulty heart valve. I also wondered if the booze was making it all worse. I know that booze can affect my blood pressure - often raising it, but it didn't seem to be very high.

I tried several remedies, and started off with antacid tablets to help if acid indigestion was some of the problem. I don't think that helped at all. The next thing to try, and it was also probably the last thing, was some aspirin. I dissolved a 300mg Aspirin tablet in water, and once dissolved I drank it down. I think it did help a bit, but I suspect it was pure exhaustion that made me fall asleep in the end.

One outcome of that chest pain is that I am now certain that I have to try and get "Patient Transport" to take me to my appointment at Kings College Hospital on the 23rd. I had hoped to combine the journey there with a bit of train spotting, but I fear I would turn up at hospital in pain, and that could effect my upcoming Tavi procedure to replace my faulty heart valve. If I had arrived in very poor condition it might possibly bring my heart valve replacement forward a day or two....or it could kill me !

In the end I did fall into quite a deep sleep. I think I probably slept quite well. I remember getting up to pee once or twice, and I don't think I can remember any chest pain at those times. I can't seem to remember any dreams, although I have a nagging feeling I had at least one, but I am fairly sure I would remember one if it featured any pretty nurses !! I do remember waking up sometime not too long after 5am, and wondering if I should get up then, but I went back to bed after a pee, and slept for another 90 minutes.

This morning it is the same story as yesterday. My blood glucose is very good again. My three meters read 5.9, 6.6, and 5.8mmol/l. Those figures are extremely good, but don't reflect how my weight has changed - it has gone up again. This morning it is 1.3kg heavier than yesterday morning (I have subsequently, just now in fact, finally had a very good poo. If I had done that before weighing myself, it might have knocked a few tens of grams off my weight.

Despite my weight gain, I had a double portion of instant noodles for breakfast. It was a cocktail of beef and tomato flavour instant noodles. As a concept it didn't work as expected, and worse was that it felt too filling. Maybe I feel a bit bloated now. Maybe it has given me a good blood pressure. I think 112/51 is fairly good.

I think my morning is semi mapped out. Once I have finished typing this I am going to have a snooze, and that could be anywhere between 5 and 50 minutes. After that I will get hold of Patient Transport to see if I can arrange to be driven door to door for my appointment at Kings on the 23rd. Then I might have a shower, and possibly wash my hair too. After that I will contemplate going to Tesco.

It is still not essential that I go shopping, but there are a few things, like Hot Pepper Sauce that I would like to have spares for when my last bottle runs out in a day or three. My previous excuse for not going was that I thought my legs would ache too much. Now I think it will trigger some chest pains. I will ever know for sure until I try it Maybe it will be today.....or maybe not again.
