It was
brilliantly sunny yesterday morning,
and even when some clouds appeared,
around midday, we still had some
nice sunny spells for the rest of
the day. It stayed dry, and the
temperature reached 21° C for one
hour at 4pm.
Clear sky during the night
(with the moon shining brightly as I
closed the curtains) meant a cold
start this morning. The forecast said
13° C at 7am, but it is now up to
nearly 17° C thanks to strong
sunshine. The forecast says strong
sunshine all day long, and the
temperature should rise to 21° C by
1pm, and stay there until it slowly
starts to drop at 7pm, although it may
no drop far. The latest update say the
temperature should reach 22° C today.
Tomorrow should be dry and sunny, and
it could warm up to 23° C. Even Monday
may not be too bad, but we'll have to
wait until tomorrow to get a more
accurate forecast.
Being awake for a lot of the
night before last had it's
consequences yesterday. I didn't feel
tired, or I didn't think I did, and
yet I did an awful lot of snoozing. I
started writing very late, and after
writing I had a lie down, and was soon
snoozing. I can't say it was a deep
sleep. I would wake for a few seconds,
and think I was aware of what was
happening, but it wasn't until I
noticed the clock say it was 1:30pm
that I decided it was time to pay more
attention to the world.
I started off by by having some
lunch. It did feel like I was hungry,
although at least 50% of the reason
was just habit. I had two Ciabbata
rolls filled with sliced corned beef
and sliced, pickled, gherkins. They
were nice, but not as nice as I hoped
for. Maybe it would have worked better
with ordinary sliced white bread. I
have a feeling I probably had a short
snooze after lunch.
If I didn't snooze, I certainly
spent some time laying on my bed
reading my current book. "Eclipse" By
John Shirley. It is apparently the
first
book of a trilogy. It is a
tedious book to read. Some bits are
good, and other bits seem to be a bit
tedious, and you have to grit your
teeth to read them so later stuff
makes sense.
A little later in the afternoon
I went and sat at my PC, and spent
ages reading stuff from the internet,
and also downloading lot of
stuff. One thing I can't quite
remember is if I had any significant
snacks during this time. Maybe I
didn't because I was very keen for my
dinner as 6pm approached. I had an
Aldi ready meal of pulled pork in a
thick spicy gravy with sliced greens
and rice. It was as nice as I hoped it
might be.
The evening was a bit boring. I
could find very little to watch on TV.
For reasons unknown, there didn't seem
to be any Star Trek episodes being
shown, and I had to make do with more
old episodes of The Simpsons, but at
least they seemed to be repeats that
hadn't been shown for a long time. I
was feeling tired but I did stay up to
watch QI, and I think I watched Have I
Got News For You. After that I went to
bed.
I remember very little of the
night. I think I was asleep minutes
after my head hit the pillow. I seemed
to fall into a deep and dreamless
sleep. In fact I can only remember a
mere hint of having one dream, but I
have no idea what it was about. I know
I did it a few times, but I can't
really remember getting up in the
night to pee. I do remember that when
I did start to get up I went for quite
a big pee.
This morning was one of those
rare mornings when I got up and did my
usual health measurements, and
refreshed the weather forecast for
later screenshotting. I then went back
to bed and I think I may have slept
for an hour. When I woke up I needed
another pee, and that was handy for
when I weighed myself again. Maybe it
is cheating, but after than I can say
I only put on 200gm since yesterday.
I only checked my blood glucose
once, and it was better than I hoped
for. The Contour meter read 8.2mmol/l,
and that is good, or at least good
enough. The GlucoRX meter read
7.6mmol/l, and that is definitely
good. The new GlucoFix meter read
8.2mmol/l, the same as the Contour
Meter. After a day that included
bread, and ice cream (I think I had
that for Dessert after my dinner) I
felt they were good readings.
I think I'll be going for a
walk today, but whether it will be to
to Ladywell and back, or to Aldi, I
have no idea. but I feel it is
unlikely I will do both, but you never
know. I must admit I have had fleeting
ideas for some sort of more ambitious
outing - possibly involving some train
travel, but any of all these things
will happen if they happen, and maybe
nothing at all will happen.
