09:22 BST
Apart from a few sunny spells early in the morning, yesterday was a dull day, but it was very mild, maybe even warm. The afternoon saw 19° C. There were a couple of sunny spells in the last hours of daylight. The evening, and into the night was quite mild. ![]() I am unsure if there
was a sunny spell at 6am, but it has been dull
since. By 11am we may get sunny spells that will
last to 4pm, and then the sky may clear to give full
sunshine until sunset. Late this afternoon may see
22° C, and fromm5pm there could be full sunshine
until sun set. Tomorrow is predicted to feature full
sunshine all day long, and the temperature may rise
to 25° C. In full sunshine that should feel very hot
!
Yesterday could be described as a very relaxed day. Maybe it was too relaxed - particularly when it came to selecting what I would eat. I have described as much of yesterday as I can remember, and together with some notes about my health this morning, it can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |

07:33 BST
Once again a thundery shower was forecast for yesterday, and once again it didn't happen. Most of yesterday seemed bright with quite a few sunny spells. The forecast said the temperature would reach 17° C for a single hour at 5pm, but I think that maybe more of the afternoon was as warm. I am tempted to call it a nice day. There have been some
sunny spells this morning, but as I write this it
seems to be getting very cloudy. This seems to be as
forecast for today. Maybe the next sunny spells will
be at 7pm tonight. Although it is going to be a dull
day, it will still be mild. It is 15° C as I write
this (according to my thermometers) and the
afternoon should see 19° C. There is a small
persistent chance of rain today, but no rain is
shown on the forecast. There should be a mild night,
and tomorrow may start bright again. Later in the
day there will be both sunny spells and full
sunshine. Tomorrow afternoon could see 22° C.
Yesterday was a curiously pleasant, and in parts, enjoyable day. My "improved" health readings made for a good start, but the weather was also a plus point - even if the weather forecast looked very negative. Fortunately the weather forecast turned out to be wrong. The full details, or as much as I can remember, or think worthwhile writing about, plus some photos, can all be seen on my complete archived page for today, and which also includes some note about this morning. |

10:05 BST
Thundery showers were forecast for yesterday - they didn't happen, or at least not around here. The day started with some sunshine instead of light showers, but the sunshine, mostly as long sunny spells, only lasted a few hours before the sky became too cloudy. I'm not sure what time they started, but I feel sure it was after midday, but we did get some light showers in the afternoon. It took until 3pm, but the afternoon did manage 14° C. The temperature did no fall far in the evening, but the light rain that had stopped towards the end of the afternoon, did start up again at midnight. ![]() This morning light
rain was forecast, and indeed there has been some
light rain. It may continue until 4pm, and possibly
end with a bang. A thunderstorm may happen at 4pm.
5pm may see sunny spells that will last until
sunset. The temperature may peak, for a single hour
at 5pm, at 17° C. Tomorrow may be dry, but there
will be very little sunshine, and that only as some
sunny spells at a few random hours. However, the
afternoon temperature may see 19° C as we slowly
warm up for some warm sunny days (except Saturday)
from the end of the week until halfway through next
week.
The thing about yesterday was that I started writing in the morning, and then paused while I tried to get ready to go and see the nurse at the surgery. As I wrote, I didn't make it because I had something like the runs - many visit to the toilet, but not the usual splattery poo of a stomach upset. All I wrote yesterday can be read in my archived page for yesterday. |

06:59 BST
Yesterday was another day that started out bright with sunny spells, but turned dull towards the end of the morning. The afternoon warmed up to 15° C, which would have been nicer with some sunshine. 7pm saw the start of some rain. It didn't seem any more than light rain, and I think it petered out before midnight. ![]() Contrary to whet the
forecast predicts, It seems dry this morning, and
there is strong sunshine (or would be strong if the
sun were higher in the sky). With only a scattering
of white fluffy clouds in the sky it looks like the
sunshine could continue for a while, although it
could turn to sunny spells. Rain may start at 11am,
and there could be a thunderstorm at 2pm.
The rain may finish at 4pm, and there could be sunny
spells until sunset. The afternoon should see 14° C.
Tomorrow could see light rain from morning to late
afternoon. Tomorrow temperature could peak at 17° C
for one single hour at 5pm. By Friday we could see
some lovely summer-like days with full sunshine and
temperatures as high as 26° C.
I have no idea how to describe yesterday - it was a bit good and a bit bad, but than again that is so for many days. Perhaps it is the consequences of yesterday that were the bad bit. Those consequences can be summed up by saying I don't feel very good this morning - and it is not a hangover ! Today's piece was written in two instalments - half before I was due to go to the surgery to see the nurse, but didn't because I had to go to the toilet so many times, and the second half after I had rested until maybe gone midday. The complete thing can be read as my archived page for today. |

08:36 BST
Yesterday featured a wet afternoon, but it was not very wet. In fact, I was out in some of it, and I barely got damp. The afternoon temperature was 13° C after a 7° C start in the morning. The day ended at 11° C, and it was supposed to be raining all evening, but the rain must have been so light that I was not aware of it while indoors. ![]() I think I would
describe this morning as sunny, but maybe the odd
cloud will obscure the sun. The cloud still looks
broken enough to let the odd ray of sun through for
quite some time yet, but maybe the predicted rain
for midday, and only midday will fall. The
rest of the the afternoon may be dull, but
dry. There is a chance of light rain after 7pm. By
midnight the temperature may have fallen to 10° C.
During the night the temperature could fall to 8° C,
and that is how tomorrow will start. From 9am
tomorrow there is a 38% chance of rain, and by 11am
it will have risen to 71% and rain is almost
certain. What is less certain, but still possible,
are thunderstorms for a couple of hours after
midday. Tomorrow afternoon may be 14° C, but with
rain, and possibly more peals of thunder.
Yesterday was good in at least aspect, but could probably be called bland for much of the day. There was even one bad thing ! My complete description of yesterday includes some wildlife photography, and some notes about my health this morning, and it can all be read in my archive page for today. |

08:36 BST
Yesterday was another wet and rainy day, although the morning was actually dry, and so calling it a rainy day was not strictly accurate. The afternoon temperature was 12° C, but with a wind from the north, and the rain, it felt much colder. ![]() This morning has
started off with bright sunshine, and the sky looks
like it could continue for some time yet, but the
forecast says it will cloud over at 10am. By 1pm it
could start to rain, and then rain almost non stop
until beyond the early hours of tomorrow morning.
All the rain is shown as light of just drizzle. This
afternoon may see 13° C, but the rain will make it
feel cooler, although the wind coming from the west
may make it feel less cooler. It seems today's rain
will finish at 7am tomorrow. The rest of tomorrow
will be dull, and the rain may start again at 6pm.
The winds from the west may help tomorrow afternoon
rise to 15° C.
Yesterday was another day where very little happened, except it seems I did make a better job at moderating my choice and quantity of food eaten - at least that is what my morning health measurements tell me. I don't think I really remember it like that ! My complete day, such as it was, together with a few notes about this morning, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |
| Friday 15th May 2026 |
|
10:01 BST
Yesterday featured a lot of rain, and some thunder and lightning ! The afternoon temperature was just 11° C, and it felt chilly (although that was while very inactive wearing indoor clothes). ![]() going to be another wet day,
although the rain is not supposed to start until
midday. It is a fairly cool morning, just 7 ° C, but
the wet afternoon should see 12° C. Tomorrow
may start at 6° C, but there may be full sunshine
for a few hours. The afternoon temperature should
rise to 13° C, and possibly 14° C for one single
hour, 5pm (or maybe part of it). It may stay dry
until 9pm, and even after that only light rain or
fine drizzle is predicted.
Yesterday was a good and a bland day, or maybe that should be bland day with some good bits. Ultimately it was, like many recently, and maybe not so recently, a bad day, but that was only to do with my health. My day, and the effects this morning, and other notes from this morning, is more fully described, with one picture of a cat, in my complete archived page for today. |

08:47 BST
Yesterday was not a nice weather day. The morning started bright, and at 9° C it was a less cold start than the day before. The afternoon was not as warm as the day before. It was just 12° C. To make everything worse there was copious rain in the afternoon, and even some distant thunder to be heard. It was also very windy. It calmed down, and dried up in the evening. ![]() Today is forecast to be
almost a replay of yesterday. There have been
a few brief brighter periods this morning, but it
seems to be settling in to grey and cloudy now. The
forecast rain for 7 and 8am didn't happen (as far as
I was aware), but rain this afternoon seems very
likely. It might even be possible that there could
be a thunderstorm at 7pm. This afternoon will only
be 11° C - which doesn't seem quite warm enough to
trigger a thunderstorm. Oddly enough, the latest
revision to the forecast does not show any
thunderstorms. Tomorrow may well follow the same
pattern as te last couple of days - dull morning and
wet afternoon. Maybe tomorrow afternoon may see 12°
C despite the rain.
Yesterday was another of those rather bland days where little happened. I'm not sure I can claim I did anything useful yesterday except for one thing that was both good and bad at the same time. It was to do with eating and the results this morning ! There is a fuller description of my day, plus a video (if your browser will play it - most do), plus notes about this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

08:33 BST
Apart from some sunny spells at the start of the morning, yesterday was a dull day, although there were a few more sunny spells in the evening. The day had started with a light frost, and 3° C. The afternoon reached 15° C, but under a miserable grey sky it still seemed rather cool. ![]() Today has started with a
few sunny spells, and there is one at the moment.
That is surprising because most of the sky is a mix
of grey and greyer clouds. Sooner or later there
will be rain, and if the forecast reflects reality
there could be light rain from 11am until 9pm (now
shown as from 9am to 10pm in the latest revision).
The afternoon will only be 12° C. It seems it is
still too early to put away the heaters ! Tomorrow
could start at just 7° C, and rather grey. Rain is
again forecast, and it may fall from midday to 9pm.
Tomorrow afternoon may see a couple of hours at 13°
C - so very slighly warmer than today, but in the
rain it will hardly be noticeable.
Yesterday mostly reflected the weather - it was a mostly dull day. There was one short bit of excitement when the man from Amazon turned up at my front door. The rest of my day, plus the usual notes about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |

09:50 BST
Yesterday could be described as cold and wet, but it wasn't quite that bad. There was some rain, but it was only light rain, and it may have only fallen intermittently during 2 or 3 of the hours it was forecast to fall. The afternoon temperature ranged between 10 and 12° C, and with the wind from the north, it certainly didn't feel warm. there were a few sunny spells to start and end the day, and after sunset the temperature fell a long way by this morning. ![]() This morning started with
a clear sky, sunshine and some patches of frost. The
sunshine should have turned to sunny spells by now,
but the cloud seems broken enough that a sunny spell
seems to be able to last a long time (so far this
morning). We may well lose even any sunny spells by
11am, but they may resume at 6pm until sunset. The
afternoon is going to be dull, but it should reach
15° C, and with wind from the west, usually a warm
direction, it may feel as pleasant as can be under a
miserable grey sky. Tonight will not be as cold as
last night. Tomorrow may start at 9° C, and possibly
with a short sunny spell. Most of tomorrow will
feature light showers, and the afternoon temperature
may not rise above 13° C, and then only for an hour
or two.
Yesterday started off moderately good, despite the dull weather and the correct threat of rain. The day, if 3am this morning counts as the end of today, ended up very badly. The middle of all that was often not too bad, and maybe even slightly good (in a way). The complete entry for today can be read from my archive, and it contains a lot more words than usual - 2,148 words in total, and that includes some notes about this morning. |

08:55 BST
Yesterday was quite dull, and it was not that warm, There was a very light sprinkle of rain in the early afternoon. The rain was not shown on the BBC forecast, although I think I remember seeing it on another forecast. It didn't amount to much, and probably wasn't worth mentioning. The afternoon temperature was 15° C, and in sunshine that may have felt quite nice, but with no sunshine it just felt cold. ![]() Maybe the light rain I
thought I saw mentioned in one or another forecast
was actually in today's forecast ! We had a bright
and sunny start that lasted all of 5 minutes, but it
has been grey since then. From 10am until 3pm we
could see light rain. After that there may be a few
random sunny spells until sunset. The afternoon
temperature will only reach 10° C, but it
should rise to 12° C by 4pm. There will be a strong
breeze today, and it will be coming from the north.
That will make it feel much colder. By 3am tomorrow
morning it will be really cold - just 3° C ! By 6am
tomorrow it may have risen to 4° C, and by 3pm the
temperature should peak to 16° C. Tomorrow morning
could be sunny, but the afternoon probably grey and
miserable.
Yesterday was both good and bad - otherwise known as bland, but not unpleasant. I had just finishing washing the beer glasses, ready for the mid afternoon beer tasting, when my phone rang. It was Jodie, and from the sound of her first hello I could tell something was wrong. I even correctly guessed what was wrong - she had another dose of the runs, and didn't dare leave the vicinity of her toilet. It meant the afternoon beer tasting session was cancelled. The remains of my day, plus my health measurements and plans this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |

08:57 BST
Yesterday was bright and sunny, and it was warm with an afternoon temperature of 19° C. It was a perfectly dry day, but somehow it didn't always seem as bright and sunny as the forecast predicted. Maybe it was just an occasional small cloud would block the sun for a few minutes, or maybe I just imagined that. ![]() I'm sure we had a sunny
spell recently, but the forecast says the only sunny
spell today will be at 8pm - just before the sun
sets. I can see a few tiny patches of blue to the
north, but none to the south. Maybe we might get
another sunny spell at some random time. A few hours
show a low chance of rain, and midday has a 28%
chance. It will still probably be dry. It is also
going to be cool compared to recent days. This
afternoon may see just 15° C . By midnight it
could be down to 7° C, and still falling. Tomorrow
may start at a chilly 6° C, but it will be sunny for
a few hours, but by 11am it could start to rain, and
continue to 3pm. The rain will hold the temperature
down to 11° C, but when the rain stops it could rise
to 12° C.

09:31 BST
Most of yesterday was that pale grey which saps any enthusiasm from me. There was some sunny spells and even sunshine in the late afternoon/early evening, but by then the damage had been done. It was a completely dry, and fairly mild day. The afternoon temperature was 17° C. ![]() It is nice and sunny now,
but a lot of the sky is more a very light, milky
grey rather than blue. I guess the sunshine is a
tiny bit hazy. Maybe the sun will burn off the haze,
and we will get full strength sunshine, but it does
seem to be leaving it a bit late. Once again, today
should be completely dry, and with an afternoon
temperature of 19° C, it is looking to be a very
nice day. Everything changes tomorrow. The whole day
is forecast to be dull, and with a 10% chance of
rain from sunrise to about 3pm, but the whole day
should actually be dry. Tomorrow afternoon may only
see 15° C, but under a sullen grey sky that may
almost feel cold.

08:19 BST
Most of yesterday was dull, although the early morning was bright for a couple of hours. There was light rain forecast for midday and 1pm, but it stayed dry all day. The afternoon was only 15° C, and with no sunshine it did not feel that warm. ![]() I can see some patches of
blue sky, and a bit earlier one patch was in the
right place to let in a few rays of sunshine, but
since then it has been slightly dull. Sunny spells
are forecast from 5 and 6pm, and two hours of full
sunshine for 7 and 8pm - when the sun is so low on
the horizon it makes little difference. The
afternoon should see 17° C and a brief excursion to
18° C at 5pm. The whole day should be dry. Tonight
the sky may be clear, and it will be colder than
recent nights. Tomorrow could start at a fairly
chilly 10° C, but the day should start with full
sunshine, and that may only end by 11am. It will be
followed by 4 hours of sunny spells. A couple of
hours later there could be more sunny spells until
sunset. Tomorrow afternoon could be a warm 19° C.

08:23 BST
There were a few sunny spells yesterday morning, but most of the day was rather dull. It stayed dry all day, but the afternoon high of just 13° C was disappointing. ![]() Like yesterday, this
morning has started with better than sunny spells -
full sunshine (although it might just be a very long
sunny spell). There are many patches of blue sky,
and the sunny spells could last longer than the
forecast predicts. It is possible we may see light
showers at midday and 1pm. The afternoon temperature
may reach 15° C, and while slightly disappointing,
is a couple of degrees better than yesterday. The
rest of the afternoon may be dry, but the latest
update now shows light rain for most of the
afternoon, and the Met Office forecast also agrees
with that. Tomorrow may start with some sunny
spells, but the afternoon may see drizzle. At 6pm
the clouds may break up to let some sunshine in, and
the last hours of daylight could see full sunshine.
Tomorrow afternoon could see 17 and 18° C.

08:02 BST
Yesterday was dull, but I suppose it was more often a light sort of dullness. Despite the clouds there was no rain, but it did seem to hold the temperature down a bit. The afternoon was only 17° C, but still shirtsleeves weather. ![]() There are some sunny
spells now, but it seems they will not last long,
and from 11am it will get sometimes dull, and
sometimes very dull. It is also going to be rather
cool. Just 13° C is forecast for the afternoon. At
5pm there is a 30% chance of rain, but the chances
are it will be dry all day long. Tomorrow could see
a few sunny spells, but there will probably be more
spells of light rain (sometimes just drizzle). On
the other hand, tomorrow could be warmer than today,
although the afternoon may only reach 15° C. Friday
and Saturday may be wet, but not as wet as forecast
a few days ago.
![]() Yesterday started with the aftermath of the tachycardia attack I had in the night. By the morning it was starting to improve, and by the afternoon all was back to normal. The more complete description of my day, plus the usual notes about this morning, can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

|
07:44 BST
Most of yesterday was quite grey. Rain was forecast for the afternoon, and late into evening, but although sometimes the road looked like it may have been slightly damp, I did not see any rain falling. The afternoon temperature reached about 18° C. ![]() The forecast claims
that there should be some sunny spells as I write
this, but I can't see any significant gaps in the
very light grey clouds. It seems it will be dull all
day long, but it should be dry. The afternoon may
reach 17° C. Tomorrow is currently forecast to be
another fairly light grey day (possibly). No rain is
forecast, and not a single ray of sunshine is
forecast. The afternoon will be cooler than of late,
and the peak temperature may be a single hour of 14°
C at 2pm.
Yesterday was a sort of bland day - neither good nor bad. I could and maybe should have gone out, but the grey looking sky put me off - and after all, rain was forecast for the afternoon even if it didn't happen. The full description of my day can be read in my complete archived page for today, and it includes some notes about this morning. |

09:50 BST
The forecast didn't show it, but yesterday started with some nice sunny spells. I can't seem to recall when they stopped, but it must have been at least halfway through the morning. The forecast predicted light rain from 2pm, and I can't remembe seeing any rain at all, although I think it was a bit dull. The afternoon may have reached 19° C for a single hour. By midnight it had fallen to just 12° C. ![]() It is very grey at
the moment, and by 2pm it could be raining, although
only light rain is predicted. (4 or 5 days ago the
BBC were predicting an afternoon of thunderstorms).
The afternoon temperature may reach 18° C, and maybe
that is a couple of degrees short of "brewing up" a
thunderstorm. The rain may finish at 10pm, and by
midnight the temperature may still be 12° C, and
the latest update says it will be raining then.
Tomorrow may feature a few isolated sunny spells,
but most of the day will be dull, but dry. Tomorrow
afternoon may only see 17° C.
Yesterday was yet another mix of good, bad but mostly indifferent. The highlight of the day was a delivery from Amazon. The afternoon beer tasting session was reasonably OK, and much of the rest of the day was indifferent. The long version of what I did yesterday can be read in my complete archived page for today, and includes notes about this morning. |

08:30 BST
Yesterday saw the first break in the recent nice weather. The morning featured sunny spells and a couple of house of non stop sunshine, but then at 2pm it clouded over, and at 3pm we had the first rain in ages. It was not heavy rain, except for perhaps a short while, but it did continue into the night. The afternoon reached 21° C, and it was 14° C at midnight. ![]() The forecast does
not show any sunshine this morning, and yet it is
bright and sunny as I write this, and I think it has
been for the last hour. I can see lots of blue sky
with some patches of white cloud, and it looks like
there is a fair chance of the sunshine, or at least
sunny spells, continuing for some time yet. The
forecast says rain will resume at 2pm, but it may
finish at 7pm. The afternoon may still reach a
pleasant 19° C for a short time. Tomorrow is
forecast to be generally dull, and there could be
light rain from mid afternoon onwards. Tomorrow will
also be cooler with just 17° C predicted for the
afternoon.
Yesterday had it's good bits, and bad bits, although the bad bits were really neutral rather than actually bad. There was one bad thing that I'll come to later - it was my own fault, even if I did not realise it at the time....although I should have. My complete diary entry for today can be read as my archived page. It includes some notes about this morning. |

08:14 BST
Yesterday was an even more brilliantly sunny day, and the afternoon temperature rose to 23° C. There was some breeze yesterday but it was from the south, and didn't feel cold. From 5pm there were some clouds, and the full sunshine turned into sunny spells. Once again the temperature was still 13° C at midnight. ![]() The sky seems clear
enough, as I write this, that the current sunny
spell seems to be a very long spell, and could be
mistaken for full sunshine. Admittedly, there does
seem to be a lot of white cloud on the northern
horizon. Maybe by 11am we will officially see full
sunshine for 2 hours. By 2pm the temperature should
have risen to 21° C, but from 3pm we may see light
rain for the rest of the day (except 7pm which may
see heavy rain). Some days ago the BBC were
predicting thunderstorms today, but no longer.
Ooops, just refreshed the forecast, and the BBC now
say thunderstorms at 6pm. The BBC do love to predict
thunderstorms that very rarely seem to happen. After
some early morning drizzle, tomorrow morning may be
mostly dry, but rain my return at 2pm. It should
only be light rain, but it may last for the rest of
the day. Tomorrow may only see a high of 18° C, but
even that is not too bad.
My preoccupation for a lot of yesterday was waiting for my parcel delivery from Aliexpress, being delivered by Evri. It was a mild annoyance (until it arrived) on a day that was not terribly dynamic, but did have a few good points, and one, almost expected, bad thing. This is sort of explained in the complete archived copy of today's diary entry. It also includes a few notes about this morning. |

08:16 BST
Yesterday was another brilliantly sunny day, and the afternoon temperature rose to 19° C. Once again the temperature was spoiled by a medium breeze, but not as much as some previous days. There was no hint of rain, and the temperature was still 13° C at midnight. ![]() Until 4pm, today
should be better than yesterday. Once again full
sunshine and the afternoon temperature reaching a
predicted 23° C. From 4pm there may be enough cloud
to change the sunshine to just sunny spells, but it
will only cool off a bit, ad like yesterday,
midnight should still be 13° C. Tomorrow will see
the return of rain, but not until the early evening.
There should be sunny spells until about 4pm, and
then at 5pm the rain may start. Unlike the BBC's
prediction of several days ago, there seems to be no
hints of any thunderstorms, although some of the
rain may be heavy for a few hours.
Yesterday was not a very exciting day, although we had some beer tasting in the late afternoon/early evening. After it got dark I could see a big bright moon, and maybe it was full, or perhaps it was still a day away from full, but whatever, I didn't bother to take any pictures of it. My full account of yesterday, and some notes about this morning, can be read in my complete archived page for today. |
