I only went out for a short time yesterday, but I didn't notice the wind cooling the day down. In fact I hardly noticed any wind. After a cool (7° C) start to the day, the strong sunshine warmed it up to 17° C by 1pm. It started cooling down after 5pm, and by midnight it was down to 7° C again
  BBC_weather forecast
Today is forecast to be a bit cooler than yesterday. The wind speed and direction seem to be the same as yesterday, so I guess the wind will be a lot cooler than yesterday. The afternoon temperature should reach 14° C, and hopefully that will feel nice when outside. The strong sunshine should warm my front rooms up regardless of the wind outside. Tomorrow may start cooler at just 5° C, but the afternoon should be a bit warmer at 15° C after another day of (possibly) non stop, strong sunshine.

Yesterday was a curious sort of day. I didn't seem to feel anything like as bad as the day before, but I still found I was lacking enthusiasm, and perhaps to a lesser extent, energy too. However it was a day when some useful experiments took place.

One problem with yesterday was also a problem the day before. The Philip K. Dick book I am reading is not terrible enjoyable, but it is so weird that it is compelling to read to try and find out what is going on in it. I guess I kept coming back to the book when I should have been doing other stuff. That is not to say I was spending long periods reading it - it was more like lots of frequent nibbles that added up to quite a bite out of the day.

After writing my 2,221 words yesterday morning I lay down on my bed, and started reading. I also had a short snooze....or at least I think I did. I definitely remember my eyelids keep closing, and I know I gave in and let them close completely. What I am not sure is if I had a snooze, but on the balance of probabilities, I probably did. I think it was almost midday when I sprung back into action - although the reality was far, far less dramatic than that sounds !

My original intention was to wash my hair, and have a shower, but it was feeling late, and washing my hair would have been nice rather than essential. I just had a shower, and then got ready to go out. I had already decided I would probably do more than go to the local shops - which is what I did. I wore my recently bought, half price, Tesco trainers again, and once again they went through the phases of uncomfortable, comfortable, uncomfortable, and very glad to get them off my feet again.

My first port of call was to get some stuff from Savers. It was a mix of some vitamins and antacids, and some shampoo and conditioner. After that I crossed the way, and went into Poundstretcher. I found it a bit disappointing because there were a few things I hoped to buy again, but they had run out of them. On the other hand I found a few things I was not expecting, and bought them instead. Of the latter, I found they had Gullom sugar free biscuits in again after along wait, and a got 2 or 3 packets of them.

Poundstretcher seems to have finally run out of some of my favourite instant noodles, but got other in, and maybe a few of them will be new favourites. One in particular, which comes in a 4 pack, has some good points about it. More about that later. My walk home was not comfortable thanks to those Tesco trainers. I was wearing plasters over my bunions, and they were comfortable. I find it hard to describe just what is uncomfortable about those trainers.

One facet of those trainers is that they are still very stiff feeling, and that makes walking fast difficult. I had ended up with semi heavy shopping, and I was trying to push myself to try and walk faster, but the trainers were fighting back. I got to then point where I wondered if they would ever reach the comfort levels I hoped for, and if the problem was just my feet going weird. I have other trainers that are far more comfortable, and so it must be mostly the Tesco trainers that are fault.

I forgot to mention that after my shower I got the big builders buckets out again, and left the last three items in my laundry basket soaking in detergent. I expected that soon after I put my shopping away, and had lunch, I would get back to that laundry, but it was quite some time later when I finally got back to the laundry. First and foremost was lunch. It was simply cheese and tomato purée in two Ciabatti rolls - they were very nice for something so simple.

After eating lunch I laid on my bed again, and picked up my book. I definitely read, and I think I snoozed too, for over an hour. I can't seem to account for all the time, but I think it was about 3:30pm before I got back to my laundry. It was a single pair of lounge pants, one t-shirt, and one pair of underpants. That was not too taxing, and I did the three rinses and fabric conditioner non stop.

When I finished it seemed too late to hang those items on the washing line, and so I hung them on the big clothes horse in the front room. It was feeling nice and warm in there thanks to the sun. The room was losing the sunshine by then, but it stayed warm, and by using my desk fan to blow that warm air over the clothes I noted they were feeling dry in places only a few hours later. I left them as they were overnight, and they should be bone dry now.

I had an unusual late afternoon snack after I had hung the washing up to dry. I had two small, and to be honest, not very nice apples (to my taste buds) with half a dozen or so sugar free high fibre biscuits. It was an experiment, and it seemed to work quite well. The biscuits and apples complimented each other, and in theory it was quite an healthy meal. I can't say it was definitely either low calorie or low sugar, but I am fairly sure it was almost both.

Being a weekend day, the TV schedules were very different, and only Sky Arts were showing anything that interested me. Once again it was all stuff that was last shown (probably) less than a year ago. The theme was Cream - the band. There were two documentaries that were very good in parts (mostly the music) and tedious in other parts. They were followed by a documentary about The Yardbirds - the band the seeded the rock world with a few good musicians.

While watching the first Cream documentary I had my dinner. I only had a small choice of possible dinners, and I chose what I hadn't considered to be a choice, but I think it turned out to be a good choice - healthy in two good ways, although unhealthy in terms of nutritional balance - no vegetables at all unless you count the wheat that made the noodles !
low sugar noodles
It was Ko-Lee's Kimchi flavour instant noodles. As my rather poor photo (too much reflection on the shiny plastic packet) shows, the energy values of just 55 calories, and a sugar content of less than 0.5gm, is all rather splendid. They tasted rather nice too, although I would describe the taste as peppery rather than spicy. I am not positive, but I think the 4 pack cost just £1.49 from Poundstretcher. I shall be buying more the next time I go there.

I had two individual packs made up in one of my instant noodle bowls, and I definitely enjoyed them. One good (or bad) thing was knowing that with such a low sugar content I could slightly take liberties with a dessert. Of course this was really a bad idea, but I did it anyway. I had more Neapolitan ice cream. I think I had closer to 2 scoops, which was a bit naughty. I ended up only eating the rest of the alleged strawberry flavour, and left the plain vanilla, and chocolate flavour untouched for another time.

I'm unsure what time my TV entertainment finished, but I went to bad after I turned the TV off. Of course I started reading again. I've reached a very annoying bit of the book that is very boring, but I am guessing it is the build up to something very interesting. If I didn't believe that I might put the book back on the shelf and ignore it again for another 10 years or whatever. For now I will continue to wade through the shallows until something exciting happens.

I think I got up for my first pee at a little after 11pm, and so I assume I was probably asleep before 10pm (not that it really matters). I think I got up to pee about as often as usual, but I did seem to think that most times I did smaller pees than usual. That seemed like it might be significant. If I say I can't remember a single dream now, it would typically jog my memory, but maybe not this time.

The only possible significant thing during the night was waking up (for a pee) at about 4am, and I thought I heard a mouse munching on something, but it stopped before I was fully awake. I guess it might have just been my knees creaking, or the end of a snore still echoing around the room. I hear no more during the night, and I think I have to believe I misheard some other sound.

Too much ice cream last night spoiled this morning, but on the whole, things were still good. After a pee and a poo (although the latter was a little while after I first got up) I got on the scales and I was happy to see that I had lost 200gm. That was not a lot, but at least it is still going in the right direction. I suspect that before the morning is over I will have another poo, and if I could have done it earlier it might have been worth another 100gm.

My blood glucose is not as low as it could have been if I had shown some restraint with the ice cream last night, but no reading was actually bad. The Contour meter read 7.5mmol/l, and that is very good - spot on my current target. The GlucoRX meter read 8.3mmol/l, and while not as good, is still fairly good. The Sinocare meter was typically the highest of them all at 8.6mmol/l. That could be considered good if it were not the other two meters showing better.

My blood pressure is particularly good this morning. The first reading was very good, and the second reading was even better. That reading was just 101/48 - easily in the "Optimum" region according to the blood pressure meter's inbuilt diagnostics.

I had a call from Jodie yesterday. She said there were no trains from Elmers End to Catford Bridge, and so she has found other sources of amusement, and won't be over for a beer tasting session this afternoon. I'll miss a bit of company, but on the other hand I seem to stay a bit healthier when I don't get drunk before dinner time. Today I might possibly be a bit more healthy still. I have no idea if I will actually do it, but I am thinking about going for a walk in the park. In the unlikely event that I get as far as Ladywell, and seem to still feel good, there are a few ways I can extend the walk a bit, but just Ladywell and back will be good enough to practice.
