My
Electronic Diary For May 2025 |
Saturday 31st May 2025 |
07:47 BST
Yesterday got off to a slow
start. It was mild, but instead of instant sunny
spells, as per the forecast, it was mid morning before
the sun broke through. Some hours that followed did
have a full hour of sunshine, but clouds popped up now
and then to reduce it to more sunny spells. I forget
what time it was when some very dark, almost black
clouds appeared for a while. It was a hot day with 4
or 5 hours at 24° C.
![]() This morning is another
that is dull instead of being sunny. I am guessing
that like yesterday, the cloud will break up
around mid morning. From then on we should get
sunny spells for the rest of the day. The
temperature may briefly peak at 25° C.
Tomorrow, the 1st June, is apparently the first
day of summer for weather forecasters, but it may
not be very summery. There could be just a few
hours of full sunshine, but mostly it will be just
sunny spells. From late afternoon it could be
quite dull. The maximum temperature may be just
21° C.
Yesterday was another day effectively wasted by waiting until 7pm for an Amazon delivery. If they could show an estimated one hour slot when the delivery could take place, like most other courier company's do. It would make life much better. My day, such as it was, plus my night, and this morning, is all described in my full archived page for today. |
Friday 30th May 2025 |
08:38 BST
After a dull and wet start,
yesterday improved a lot, and I feel sure there was a
lot more early sunny spells that the forecast
predicted. The most important thing was the wind. It
was sometimes quite strong, but it was blowing in some
very warm air from the west. The forecast predicted
21° C, but a couple of my outside thermometers touched
24° C, and maybe even 25° C.
![]() The forecast has not got
off to a good start. We should have had 3 hours of
sunny spells since 6am, but the sky is quite grey.
There is no way the sun is going to burn through
that lot, but hopefully the wind, a bit lighter
than yesterday, may blow the cloud away. If we
start to get the promised sunny spells then we
should also get full sunshine from 2pm...maybe.
Even with no sunshine it seems to be 19° C as I
write this - almost as forecast. By 3pm it may hit
24° C. Tomorrow may see a mix of sunny spells and
sunshine, and that may take the temperature up to
25° C.
I have no idea how to justify it, but I think I am going to describe yesterday as a good day. Maybe it was an almost absence of anything bad rather than anything particularly good, although there were a few slightly minor good things now and then. My day is described together with notes about last night and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |
Thursday 29th May 2025 |
08:02 BST
The weather was generally
nice yesterday. There were a few times when it clouded
over, and I think it was late afternoon when some very
heavy looking clouds made it seem very dull, but much
of the day was bright and sunny. It was easily warm
enough for t-shirt and shorts when I went out at
lunchtime. The forecast high was 20° C, and I wonder
if it might have been a degree or two higher.
![]() It was quite dull
earlier, and we even had some light rain, but it
is brighter now, although it looks unlikely that
the sun will break through for quite some time.
15° C was a nice mild start to the day, and we
should see 21° C by mid afternoon. There may be
sunny spells from 5pm until sunset. Tomorrow
should see sunny spells for most of the day, but
full sunshine for the last 3 hours of daylight. It
should stay dry, and the afternoon temperature may
reach a pleasant 23° C.
There were only a few, almost minor things, that made yesterday seem like a better day than some recently. Obviously the sunny spells were one of the good things. I got a little bit of exercise, and that was good thing, but more about that later, and more about everything else later. M day is part described with pictures, and there are notes about my night, and also this morning. All can be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Wednesday 28th May 2025 |
08:23 BST
The weather was not nearly
as bad as the forecast predicted for yesterday. Unless
I somehow missed it, there was very little of the
forecast rain....or on second thought, maybe just a
bit less rain. There seemed to be no sunshine in the
morning when it was forecast, but there were sunny
spells in the afternoon when it was supposed to be
raining. I'm not sure about the temperature. It didn't
seem to feel as low as 15° C, the forecast temperature
after a brief peak at 16° C in the morning.
![]() Today should hopefully
be a much nicer day than the previous couple of
days. Quite a few sunny spells are forecast, and
the temperature should peak at 20° C for a few
hours from mid afternoon. However, at midday, and
1pm, there is a 28 and 29% chance of rain. No rain
is actually shown for those hours, but it doesn't
seem to be a low enough chance to completely
ignore it. Tomorrow may start at just 14° C, and
although probably dry, it is shown as very dull
and murky until the afternoon. From 5pm there
could be some sunny spells.
Yesterday was a funny old day. On the face of it, it should have been a terribly dull and boring day, but it seemed to be almost pleasant.....well, some of the time. I think I only did two significant things, and one of those was doing another order from Amazon. My day, such as it was, plus my night, and the usual notes about this morning, is all described in my complete archived page for today. |
Tuesday 27th May 2025 |
08:51 BST
The weather was better than
the forecast for yesterday, but it was still not a
nice day. The early morning sunshine was nice, but it
was barely mid morning when it clouded over. 8 hours
of light rain was forecast from midday, but the only
rain I remember happened at 1:27pm. It lasted maybe 10
minutes, with a possible extra 10 minutes of very fine
rain that couldn't be seen, but maybe felt if outside.
I'm not sure if the afternoon saw just a single hour
of 17° C, as per the forecast. It could have been a
degree higher, and maybe for 2 or 3 hours. It wasn't
notable because there was also a chilly wind that made
it coat weather when outside.
![]() I'm not sure if we have
had any actual sunshine this morning, but it often
seemed to be quite bright. As I write this it is
medium bright, with a lot of cloud in the sky. If
the forecast is correct, which I doubt, there will
be drizzle at 11am followed by light rain until
7pm, except for 2pm when it might be heavy rain,
or....it could be like yesterday and be dry for
most of the time. The temperature will soon be
peaking at 16° C, but almost all the afternoon
will only be 15° C. Today does not seem like the
weather for romping in the park. Tomorrow looks
better for that. The current forecast (which could
change a lot in 24 hours) says there could be
sunny spells all day long, and the temperature may
peak at 20° C at 4pm. There may still be quite a
breeze blowing in from the east that may make it
feel cooler.
Yesterday started off really bad - feeling crappy and with terrible weight and blood glucose readings. With those readings I didn't have to push myself that hard to take steps to correct my health, or at least the worst bits of it. It became very pleasing that the extreme steps I took worked well. The explanation off all this, plus notes about last night and this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Monday 26th May 2025 |
08:03 BST
Yesterday was quite a
pleasant day weather-wise. Most of the day featured
sunny spells, but 9am did feature a passing shower.
The other negative thing was the wind. It did feel
cool at times, but otherwise the afternoon temperature
of 21° C felt nice.
![]() This morning has started
with some nice sunshine, but most of the day may
be quite dull. It may, or may not feature a lot of
light rain. The Met Office forecast says no rain
but very dark grey skies. The BBC forecast (as
shown above) says it will not be that dark, but
there will be 8 hours of light rain this
afternoon. The highest temperature may be a single
hour, 1pm, at 17° C. Tomorrow is currently looking
slightly more grim than today. There may be a
couple of hours of only sunny spells to start
tomorrow, but it will quickly cloud over. The
temperature may rise to 16° C for a couple of
hours, but from 1pm until the end of the day it
will be back down to just 15° C, and there will
probably be light rain until midnight.
Yesterday was both and bad. The headline things are that I did get to The Catford Beer Festival in The Catford Bridge Tavern, but as expected, very few of the beers were actually nice, and the four pints I had, had a disastrous effect on my health ! My day is described along with pictures of the beers tasted, as well as notes about my night, and this morning (mostly bad news) in my complete archived page for today. |
Sunday 25th May 2025 |
08:23 BST
Yesterday's weather was a
bit better than the forecast suggested it would be.
This was mostly because it was dryer. The early
morning rain seemed to stop hours before the forecast
said it would. There was very little in the way of
actual sunshine, but I think the clouds were thin
enough for it to be quite bright, and to let
infra red radiation through. I noted that any of my
outside thermometers that could see the sky were
reading a lot higher than the forecast, although I
don't think they read higher than the 21° C forecast,
although they read it for several more hours than
forecast. The evening was forecast to have drizzle
from about 8pm to the end of the day. As far as I was
aware, it stayed dry.
![]() This morning started
quite mild, and it was bright, but I don't think
the sun managed to shine as per the forecast. I
suspect that today is a difficult day to forecast.
It's only a guess, but I think we are caught
between two different weathers, and it is hard to
say which will affect us more. It does seem almost
cloudy enough for light rain at 9 and 10am, but
there may still be a chance that it will stay dry.
From 11am until sunset we could have sunny spells.
The temperature should peak at 21° C. As I write
this just before 9am, the outside temperature
seems to be 19° C, or 3° C higher than forecast.
Tomorrow could be cooler than today. Just 17° C,
and that for maybe a single hour. The afternoon
will probably be wet.
Yesterday was one of those days when after a slightly less than good start, soon turned good, but by mid afternoon was dull and boring. I can't say there was nothing for me to do, but it would be very true to say there was nothing I was in the mood to do..... All I did that can be adequately described, plus what I remember of my sleep, plus a few notes about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Saturday 24th May 2025 |
09:25 BST
Yesterday's weather came
very close to the weather forecast. There was loads of
sunshine in the morning, and that gave way to it being
rather dull for 3 or 4 hours. Then the sun broe
through again. The afternoon high was forecast to be
just 18° C, but it might have been almost 20° C.
![]() The early forecasts for
today sounded very grim. Even the forecast at 5am
doesn't look very attractive, but the reality is
not so bad. There was rain in the early hours of
today, but it seemed to have stopped by about 8am
(although I can't rule out there being some very
fine drizzle). This is actually in line with the
Met Office Forecast. That says rain finishing at
8am, and then dry but dull for the rest of the
day. The BBC forecast (screenshot above) shows an
afternoon high of 21° C, but the Met Office say
only 20° C. Tomorrow's forecast currently shows a
single hour of drizzle, and the rest of the day
mostly featuring sunny spells. The temperature may
only reach 19° C.
I did not feel good yesterday morning. Some of it was physical, and the rest guilt. Both eased off during the morning, and by the afternoon I was not feeling too bad except for my bottom. That was definitely sore after after going for a normal in most ways, poo about every couple of hours...or so it seemed. My whole day, such as it was, plus some of my night, and this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |
Friday 23rd May 2025 |
09:41 BST
After several days of wrong
weather forecasts, yesterday's was not too bad. The
bright and sunny start was correct, although the
sunshine and sunny spells did seem to last later than
forecast, but by 11am, or maybe midday, clouds ruled
the sky. The temperature stopped rising once it had
reached 14° C, and very soon started to drop as it
seemed like the steely grey clouds sucked all the
warmth away.
![]() This morning has
certainly started off bright and sunny, but it is
also a cool start. The full sunshine may give way
to sunny spells, and by 1pm we may lose any
sunshine for three hours or so. There could be
some sunny spells a bit later. Today's temperature
could peak at 18° C. The weather tomorrow could be
terrible ! The morning may feature mostly light
rain, although 6am could see heavy rain. The
afternoon could be dry, but still very dull, and
rain could resume at 5pm. Despite all that, the
temperature may rise to 20° C.
Yesterday was yet another day which started well, but probably ended as a disaster, and if the evening wasn't a disaster, the night was definitely one. Yet for all that I seemed to have survived in fair condition this morning, or maybe "it could have been worse" is what I mean. My day, including notes about the afternoon beer drinking, some notes about the terrible night I had, and how it all turned out this morning, can all be read out in my complete archived page for today. |
Thursday 22nd May 2025 |
08:49 BST
Yesterday's weather
forecast could not have been more wrong ! True, they
did correctly forecast the light rain at the very
start of the day, but after that they got nothing
right until about 6pm when indeed the sun did break
through to give a rather nice evening. All the rain
after the early morning just never happened. It was
certainly cloudy for most of the day, but it was still
often bright even if not actually sunny. The
temperature soon reached 17° C, and it may have peaked
close to 20° C.
![]() This morning has
certainly started off bright and sunny, but it is
also a cool start. My thermometers say 10° C, and
that is a degree higher than forecast. It seems we
may lose any sunshine in a few hours, and the
afternoon may be extremely dull. Only an almost
chilly 14° C are forecast for the afternoon, and
that seems very poor compared to recent days. By
1am tomorrow morning the temperature may be down
to 9° C. Tomorrow morning could start with bright
sunshine, and it should last until midday. The
afternoon may be medium dull, but with 18° C
expected it should feel warmer. sunny spells could
return at 5pm tomorrow, and continue until sunset.
Yesterday was yet another day which didn't go as originally expected, and it was partly due to the weather, and it was also down to me, and that itself may have been influenced by the weather. The influence was part mental, and part physical. How this turned out is described in my complete archived page for today, and it includes notes about last night, and this morning. |
Wednesday 21st May 2025 |
08:49 BST
The weather forecast was
(almost) right yesterday. The morning was bright and
sunny, and that pushed the early afternoon temperature
up to 21° C. The afternoon was quite cloudy. There
were sunny spells, but at times it seemed quite dull.
it was a relatively mild night.
![]() The weather forecast for
today keeps changing. This mostly because of the
BBC's fetish for thunderstorms. Yesterday the
forecast for today featured loads of
thunderstorms.
![]() Although I didn't really have any specific plans for yesterday, once I knew I should be expecting a big box of beers to be delivered, I am not sure if anything I did was to any sort of plan yesterday. I seemed to make it up as I went along. I guess it was a fairly good day, although I feel I probably wasted a lot of time. My day, night, a dream and notes about this morning are all described in my complete archived page for today. |
Tuesday 20th May 2025 |
07:05 BST
The weather forecast was
almost right yesterday. This time it correctly showed
that the morning would be dull, and also a rather cool
at the start. I don't remember the following sunny
spells to be all that sunny, but the evening was
rather nice and sunny, even if the day was as good as
over for me. The afternoon may have reached 19° C.
![]() The weather forecast for
today is almost the inverse of recent days. Today
has started with blue skies and nice sunshine, and
after a 10° C start it is already starting to warm
up. Unfortunately the full sunshine is forecast to
give way to just sunny spells from 1pm. The sunny
spells may continue until sunset. The afternoon
temperature should reach 22° C. Overnight cloud
means tomorrow may start a little less cool at 14°
C, but it may only rise to a maximum of 17° C in
the afternoon. The reason will be a lot of cloud,
and quite probably a lot of inconvenient rain !
Yesterday turned out to be another day that turned out to be completely different to how it was supposed to be. Instead of going out I stayed in all day long. The cool, grey and miserable morning was a strong reason for this, but there was one other that I'll come to later. I've tried, but slightly failed, to keep today's writing brief My day, night and this morning are still described enough in my complete archived page for today. |
Monday 19th May 2025 |
08:29 BST
Despite the optimism of the
weather forecast, yesterday was relentlessly dull and
grey until around 2pm. In the grey light even 16° C
felt almost chilly. It was possibly 4 or even 5pm
until it started to feel nice, and the sunshine was
more less non stop. it only took the temperature up to
18° C.
![]() The weather forecast for
today looks like it was actually for yesterday. It
is quite dull now, and the first sunshine should
appear at midday. It will be 4pm before we get
full sunshine - assuming the forecast is accurate.
It possibly is accurate because the BBC forecast
(screenshot above) is very similar to the Met
Office forecast (which often seems to be for
somewhere else than Catford) Today should be dry,
and the temperature should reach 19° C. Tomorrow
may see things reversed - strong sunshine all
morning, and then just sunny spells in the
afternoon. The afternoon temperature should reach
a pleasant 22° C.
Yesterday turned out to be completely different to what I had planned. It was a lot to do with the depressing dull grey skies, and also because I was technically constipated, although strangely enough I didn't actually feel that way. More on this unpleasant stuff later. My whole day, or as much as is worth writing about, plus my night and some notes about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Sunday 18th May 2025 |
08:51 BST
After a dull start,
yesterday was a nice sunny day, although at times it
didn't feel that warm. The temperature reached 20° C
in the pure sunshine, but the breeze sometimes too the
edge of it.
![]() The weather seems to be
going backwards again. The clouds are currently
thick enough that it could be hours before any
sunshine peeps through, and the forecast says it
will be mid afternoon before we see any full
sunshine. It is currently shown as being a dry
day, and that is something. The maximum
temperature today could be 19° C, but that may
only be for a single hour, and 18° C for just 3
hours this afternoon. I think it could be back to
long trousers weather. Tomorrow may
feature a lot more sunshine, although it may still
be 1pm before we get full sunshine after a morning
of sunny spells. It could take the temperature up
to 20° C.
Yesterday was a day that turned out OK after a bad start. That bad start was travel problems, and I'll explain that soon, but my alternative plan was actually quite good, even if it was literally a walk in the park. That produced a few good photos to show today. Most of my day, plus most of my night, and some notes about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Saturday 17th May 2025 |
08:13 BST
Yesterday was almost back to
summer weather, but it was spoiled at times by a very
cool feeling wind (or maybe it was just a strong
breeze !). There was lots of sunshine, and that did
push the temperature up to 20° C.
![]() As per the forecast, it
is rather cold and dull this morning, but the
clouds seem like they may be light enough to break
up later. I don't think it will happen at the
forecast time of 9am - that is only 14 minutes
away as I type this. Assuming we do get the full
sunshine forecast to start at 11am, the
temperature should rise to 20° C - which is good,
but not that good. At the moment it looks like
tomorrow may be a re-run of today, but the
temperature may only reach 19° C, and that seems a
bit poor.
Yesterday could be described as an annoying day, but maybe only a bit of it was really annoying. The laxative pill I took the day before yesterday certainly did it's stuff, and that was not annoying at all, but rather good, although if the visits to the toilet had continued into the afternoon it could have been a bit annoying. The results of the laxative pill have now been described enough, and the rest of my day, and night, and this morning are described in my complete archived page for today. |
Friday 16th May 2025 |
08:33 BST
Yesterday was quite a
miserable day. The promised sunny spells never
happened, and it stayed grey, and rather cool feeling
all day long. The forecast was that the afternoon
should see 19° C, but I think 17° C was closer to
reality.
![]() It should be back to
summer today ! There are still a lot of random
clouds around, but the sun has been shining non
stop for the last hour or so, and the forecast
says we should have full sunshine all day long.
Even with a lively breeze (at times) coming from
the north east, we should still see 20° C today.
Tomorrow may start a bit grey, but if the forecast
has any credibility sunny spells should start from
7am, and by 11am there may be full sunshine for
the rest of the day. The temperature should reach
21° C.
Yesterday morning was very slightly stressful as I waited for my two deliveries from an Amazon order. Otherwise it seemed like a fairly good morning until it became increasingly clear that the weather was going to be horrible all day instead of just a few hours in the morning. The best account of my day, my night, and also this morning, can be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Thursday 15th May 2025 |
07:45 BST
Yesterday was just like a
summer's day....almost. It may not have been quite as
warm as a good summer's day, but 24° C was pretty
good. It was, of course dry and the sky almost clear
all day.,
![]() The weather takes a
(hopefully) one day holiday today. This morning it
feel quite chilly. The wind makes the current 11°
C feel even colder. It is also very dull outside,
and while no rain is forecast, it does have that
"it might rain later" feel about it. If the
forecast has any credence, the sun should break
through in an hour or two, and then there could be
sunny spells for the rest of the day. It should
raise the temperature up to about 19° C (which I
think is an improvement on yesterday's forecast
for today). Something closer to summer
returns tomorrow. It is currently forecast to be
full sunshine all day, and an afternoon
temperature of 20° C.
Like many Wednesdays, yesterday started off good, but from mid afternoon things dragged a lot. That lead me on to eating a bit more than I should have, or wanted to, but fortunately the outcome of it was not bad at all. Missing the postman was a minor irritation. The good and the bad of my day, plus how I slept, and some notes about this morning, can all be read in my complete archived page for today. |
Wednesday 14th May 2025 |
07:31 BST
Yesterday was dry, very
warm, and very sunny. The temperature may have reached
24° C, although only 23° C was forecast. The alleged
slight chance of a thunderstorm may have been true
elsewhere, but there was hardly a cloud in the sky
around here.
![]() Today should be like a
slightly (one degree) warmer version of yesterday.
The sky is, and should remain blue, and the sun
should be burning down all day long. It may still
only reach 24° C. Tomorrow should stay dry, but
the morning may be very cloudy. The cloud may
start to thin at 1pm, and we'll get the first
sunny spells of the day. 7 and 8pm may feature
full sunshine. It will be a much cooler day, but
not cold. 17° C is forecast.
I think I can describe yesterday as "satisfactory" - again ! It was not very productive, but it was productive enough. I didn't take a lot of advantage of the hot sunshine, but I did take some advantage of it. It was probably the evening that was least productive. As usual, my day, night, and this morning are all described in varying levels of detail in my complete archived page for today. |
Tuesday 13th May 2025 |
08:39 BST
The weather forecast for
yesterday changed a lot. The previous day it said
there would be thunderstorms in the afternoon.
yesterday morning it had reduced that to just 2 hours
of light rain, and as midday approached it said there
would be 3 hours of light rain. The reality was that
it was mostly sunny, and it was dry all day !
The forecast temperature was just 21° C, but I am sure
I saw 24° C on my thermometers. It was actually a very
nice day !
![]() On the BBC news last
night the weather section suggested that there
could be a thunderstorm today, but this morning's
version of the forecast only gives a chance of 8%
of any rain today. For most of the day,
perhaps all daylight hours, there should/could be
blue skies and strong sunshine. For all that only
23° C is predicted. Tomorrow is probably going to
be exactly the same as today with just one small
change - a maximum of just 22° C.
I think I can describe yesterday as "satisfactory" - not as good as good, but not as bad as bad. Maybe satisfactory plus would be more correct. I did some useful stuff, and the day slipped by easily. I even seemed to get to sleep a bit earlier last night. My whole day, such as it was, plus my night and this morning is described in my full archived page for today. |
Monday 12th May 2025 |
08:28 BST
Yesterday could easily have
been mistaken for a summer day. The sun was out most
of the time, and the temperature rose to 25 or even
26° C.
![]() Until mid evening,
yesterday, the advanced forecast for today showed
much more rain, and several lightning bolts, but
this morning it just shows two hours of light
rain. The weather warning does warn of
thunderstorms, but that is a general thing that
seems to cover most of SE England. At the moment I
can see a lot of what I think they call fair
weather cloud, but while it may have slightly
dimmed the sunshine on one occasion, it feels like
we have had almost full sunshine so far this
morning. The chance of rain only rises to 42 and
43% at 2 and 3pm, and that is low enough that
there may not be any rain at all today. It will be
cooler today, but 21° C is still fairly good. The
forecast for tomorrow currently shows full
sunshine from dawn to dusk, and an afternoon
temperature of 23° C.
One thing I forgot to mention in advance was that I knew Jodie was busy, and we would not be having an afternoon beer tasting session. That left me free to do anything I wanted to do. That amounted to almost nothing, but I did do something that painlessly consumed a bit of time. As usual, my day is more fully described, along with my night, and also this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |
Sunday 11th May 2025 |
09:46 BST
Yesterday was a lovely day -
full sunshine for 95% of daylight hours, and an
afternoon temperature of 23° C
![]() Today may be a better
day than yesterday. This time the forecast admits
there may be a few clouds in the afternoon giving
some short periods without sunshine. The afternoon
temperature may reach 25° C, and possibly more.
Tomorrow should feature loads of sunny spells, but
the temperature may only reach 22° C, and there
could be some rain in the afternoon.
Yesterday was a pretty good day. The weather was very nice, and I managed to get a bit of exercise and sunshine. Unfortunately it seemed quite a tiring day, but by the evening I seemed to get my second wind and couldn't get to sleep until around midnight. My day is described in word and a lot of pictures, plus there are notes about my sleep and this morning, and it can all be seen and read in my complete archived page for today. |
Saturday 10th May 2025 |
08:15 BST
There was a lot more cloud
around than the weather forecast for yesterday
suggested. We did get a lot of sunshine, but it was
still poor by comparison to the dawn to dusk full
sunshine forecast. It is possible that the afternoon
temperature may have risen higher than the 17° C
forecast. All I know is that with the windows closed I
was basking in about 27° C in my bedroom.
![]() This morning has started
with a clear blue sky and full sunshine. That
makes it more believable that we really will get
full sunshine from dawn to dusk today. The
temperature may rise to a nice 23° C today
(although The Met Office says it will only rise to
22° C). Tomorrow should be even warmer with the
temperature peaking at 25° C, but late afternoon
may only see sunny spells instead of full sunshine
the rest of the time.
It is hard to say if yesterday was a good or bad day. It terms of achieving anything I might have suggested I might do, it was a bad day. In terms of learning some stuff it was a mix of good and bad because I didn't learn all I wanted. The also good and bad thing is that the day seemed to slip by painlessly, but it could be said to be a waste of a good day. Most of my day, night and this morning is described in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday should have been
nice, and at times it was. The morning started off
cold, and rather cloudy, but the cloud did break up,
and the temperature started to rise. At midday it
seemed warm and sunny enough to open my bedroom and
bathroom windows. The temperature reached 17° C, and
that should have been good, but by then we had lost
the sunshine, and even a light breeze felt chilly. I
closed my bedroom window around 2pm, and the bathroom
window a few more hours later when it was very
draughty while using the toilet !
![]() There is still some
cloud around, and it delayed the start of today's
sunshine. There are still a few clouds and a lot
of the sky is a sort of milky colour, but for now
we have full sunshine. If the forecast is correct
it should continue until sunset. It will raise the
temperature to 17° C according to the BBC
forecast, or 19° C according to the Met Office.
Tomorrow should see strong sunshine all day, and
the afternoon could reach 21° C.
Yesterday was not such a bad day, even if the weather seemed not as good as the forecast seemed to predict. One problem is that I sometimes felt tired, and I'll say more about that later. The afternoon beer tasting was better than some, and I'll write more about that too. My entire day is described in a slightly stripped down way, along with my night (with almost x-rated dream) and my morning in my complete archived page for today. |

08:10 BST
Yesterday started off rather
cool at just 7° C, but it was bright and sunny. The
forecast predicted only sunny spells, but the sunshine
continued to 10 or 11am. The sunny spells started to
get a bit sparse in the afternoon, and had almost
finished by 3pm. A bit later in the afternoon there
was a time when the clouds became really dark, but it
stayed dry. The afternoon temperature reached 16° C,
but while that would have once felt warm, it didn't
feel warm to me.
![]() So far this morning
there has not been any blue sky, and so no
sunshine. It is actually looking quite grim as I
write this, and over towards the east, where the
sun should be, there is a great big very grey
cloud. It looks more like it could rain ! If
we ever get the sunshine and sunny spells, the
afternoon temperature could reach 17° C. As
I look out the window I find it hard to believe.
No rain is forecast for today, and my bones don't
seem to be aching, and that sort of confirms it,
but the outside has that sort of grey property
that in winter might signify a possible fall of
snow. Tomorrow has a very upbeat forecast. It
currently shows full sunshine from dawn to dusk,
and an afternoon temperature of 18° C - which is
pretty good for a day that might start at 7° C.
I felt quite upbeat yesterday morning, The very idea of it now seems madness because by the afternoon I was feeling extra downbeat. With one exception I felt physically fairly good, but it was interesting that I finished the day with a body temperature of 37.0° C, and I usually only get that hot when ill (despite "normal" being 37.3° C). How my day progressed and ended, plus some notes about last night and this morning can be read in my complete archived page for today. |

Yesterday felt cool enough
that I put a coat on to go out at around midday when
the temperature was near it's highest at 14° C.
The morning started off very cloudy, but there were
sunny spells later in the morning, and several hours
later than forecast. Once again it got quite cold in
the evening and night. It was a sort of bland day that
avoided all extremes.
![]() It is a nice bright
sunny morning - so far. There are lots of small
clouds to be seen, but so far none have stepped in
front of the sun. Only sunny spells until 3pm are
forecast, and I guess that sooner or later the
sunshine will keep being interrupted by those
clouds. From 4pm the clouds will have thickened
enough to block the sun, and it will be rather
dull. The temperature should rise to a
would-be-warm-if-the wind-was lighter 16° C.
Tomorrow could see roughly as many sunny spells,
but the dull hours will be among them instead of
at the end of the day. It could be a whole degree
warmer tomorrow at 17° C. The day after tomorrow
should see a run of summer-like weather !
Yesterday was another day that featured some good bits. It didn't really feature any bad bits, but a lot of the day was quite bland. I did manage a tiny bit of exercise, but it did not feel as good as hoped - or even good at all ! Somehow I seemed to manage my eating mostly OK. As usual my day is described along with some notes about my sleep and dream, and also this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

08:08 BST
Yesterday went through three
phases. The start of the morning was cold and dull.
Late in the morning the clouds thickened, and at
around midday there was some light rain. It may have
lasted for 20 minutes instead of the 5 hours of rain
shown in the forecast. Maybe it was 5pm that the
clouds seemed to disappear, and the last few hours of
daylight were like a summers, although 13° C would be
rather poor for summer. The temperature fell a lot
during the night.
![]() This morning seems to be
very cloudy, but some rays of sunshine have
managed to shine through some small gaps in those
clouds. These rather poor sunny spells are
forecast to finish at 10am, but I am not so sure
they haven't finished 2 hours early. Apart from
maybe at 8pm, the rest of today will be dull, but
maybe not fully gloomy. The afternoon may see 14°
C, but like last night it will be a cold night.
Tomorrow may see sunny spells for most of the day,
and the temperature could rise to 16° C. Summer
could return on Friday !
I felt quite bad yesterday morning, but I slowly started to feel better in the afternoon. I could blame a lot of it on my drinking and eating on Sunday, but I suspect the bigger culprit could have been the weather. In fact that may have even contributed to my excesses on Sunday. I seemed to write quite a lot about yesterday, plus notes about my sleep, and this morning, in my complete archived page for today. |

09:00 BST
It was far sunnier yesterday
than the weather forecast predicted. The forecast said
just three hours of sunny spells from sunrise, but it
was more like almost 6 or 7 hours of full sunshine.
The afternoon was generally dull, and the wind from
the north east was quite chilly without the sunshine.
The maximum afternoon temperature was forecast to be
just 13° C, and that was probably right. The
temperature fell to around 7° C by midnight.
![]() The forecast for today
has gone through many changes in the last 24
hours, but essentially it still remains as "not
very nice". I expected today to start only a
degree or two away from a frost, but the lwoest I
noticed was 8° C, but the forecasts aid 7° C. The
main thing that has kept changing is the amount of
rain. I think we can be sure there is going to be
some today. The very latest revision shows light
rain from 11am to 3pm now. There could be sunny
spells from 5pm until sunset. It will be another
cold day with a maximum of 13° C. Tomorrow
could be grey for a lot of the afternoon, but at
other times there could be sunny spells. It may be
a while one degree warmer than today (14° C).
I thought I felt fairly good yesterday, and that was a good improvement over the day before. It didn't last. By 10pm I was feeling pretty bad. The reasons for this will be explained later in today's narrative (or whatever this verbal diarrhoea is called). All the important bits of yesterday, plus my night, and also some of this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |

09:49 BST
Yesterday was a lot better
than the weather forecast predicted. There seemed to
be almost full sunshine instead of just sunny spells,
and also while no sunshine at all was predicted. Just
sunny spells did start late in the afternoon, and at
the same time the wind seemed to grow very chilly. The
afternoon peaked at 21° C, but soon after the
temperature seemed to drop a lot. It was a cold night.
![]() The forecast says there
should have only been sunny spells until 9am, but
it is 10am as I write this, and there has been
almost non stop sunshine. It is getting cloudy
now, but there is still plenty of blue sky to be
seen between the clouds. The peak afternoon
temperature is shown as just 13° C, but I am
wondering if it might be a bit higher. On the
other hand there is a fair wind and it is coming
from the north or north east - a cold direction
usually. It should stay dry today. A lot
of tomorrows forecast looks like today, but with
two important changes. The afternoon could see 15°
C, and from 3pm there could be sunny spells.
I didn't feel that good yesterday morning, and maybe even later in the day, but I did manage to achieve enough to say I had a fairly good day. Although I did end up making a few not very clever things in my food consumption. It wasn't terrible, but did spoil things a bit. My entire day, or as much as can be described, plus my night and the start of this morning, is all more fully described in my complete archived page for today. |

08:30 BST
Yesterday was a less
glorious day, but still rather good with plenty of
full sunshine until mid afternoon. From id afternoon
it got quite cloudy, and at about 6pm, when there was
a small chance of rain, the sky was looking very grey,
but the last two hours of daylight had a fairly blue
sky. The temperature peaked at about 26° C.
![]() Today is going to be
cooler, and with less sunshine than recent days,
it still might be a good day though.
Rather than sunny intervals, as per the forecast,
I would describe it as generally non stop hazy
sunshine for now. The cloud is thin enough to let
attenuated sunshine through. This afternoon the
temperature may briefly peak at 21° C Clear skies
tonight will mean it is going to be chilly
tonight. The rot really sets in tomorrow, and the
weather will revert to something more akin to
early spring. The day may start at 8° C, and then
only reach 13° C. There will be a few hours of
sunny spells in the morning, but from 11am it will
be grey until a few sunny spells just before
sunset. It should stay dry.
I think that yesterday I was suffering from a very low key hangover from Thursday's beer session. Nothing hurt, but I seemed to have almost lost the will to do anything. Saying nothing hurt is probably not accurate, and "feeling my age" is more the truth. Somehow I did find the will to do at least one and a half things. These and other stuff about yesterday, last night and this morning, are all described in my complete archived page for today. |

08:56 BST
Yesterday was another
glorious day with plenty of full sunshine. For the
first time it actually felt hot as the temperature hit
it's peak of 28° C.
![]() This morning started off
very mild, even mildly warm at 16° C. I'm unsure
if there was full sunshine at 7am, but there
definitely is now, and it should, or could, last
until 2pm when we may only have sunny spells until
sunset. It is possible we may get a shower at 6pm.
The temperature should peak at 25° C. That is not
as good as yesterday, but still pretty good.
Tomorrow may only see sunny spells, and will be a
few degrees cooler. Just 21° C is forecast, but
that is still just t-shirt weather. After tomorrow
the weather reverts for what we are told is more
typical for May. That mostly means temperatures
under 20° C (but maybe not by much) for a couple
of weeks.
Yesterday was another mixed day - mostly good, but it went wrong in the evening, or more accurately, I went wrong in the evening, and of course booze was to blame......at least 50% ! This morning I don't feel like writing much, but possibly will. I seem to have kept it down to 1,252 words today, and you can read all of them in my complete archived page for today. |

07:51 BST
Yesterday was another
glorious day with plenty of full sunshine. For the
first time it actually felt like it was starting to
get hot as the temperature hit it's peak of 25° C.
![]() May has started with
full sunshine, and what a month or so ago we might
have described as warm - 12° C. Another day of
full sunshine and it should push the temperature
up to 28° C. There could be one tiny fly in the
ointment - note the 6% chance of rain at 4pm.
There could be a splash of rain today, but it is a
very low chance, and warm rain would not be that
bothersome anyway (or not if it is all over inside
of one hour). Tomorrow could start even warmer
this morning. The current version of the forecast
says 16° C at 6am. It seems there may not be full
sunshine all day - the afternoon could be mostly
sunny spells. The afternoon temperature may only
reach 26° C, but that is still very comfortable.
Yesterday was another mostly good day. Some things were good because they were bad, and some things were bad because they were good. These paradoxes and enigmas may be explained somewhere in all the scribble I am about to write about my day. Most of my whole day, including my sleep last night, and a few notes about this morning can be read in my complete archived page for today. |
